It isn't as though it's been very long since I've last updated this
particular part of my online world, so, predictably, I'll have very
little meaningful to say. With apologies made in advance, I'll just
commence babbling.
I guess I'll kick things off by offering a hearty congratulations to fans of both the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Bulls. Not that I, as a fan of Los Angeles' hockey and basketball teams, wanted either team to win, mind you, but I can be mature. Sort of. Wait 'til next year! One thing I have done with the last week of my life is polish up the CfMC Service Bureau pages. Nominally, at least, I belong to the department, and, after whining about their quality for long enough, it became my job to fix things up a little. I don't necessarily know that the pages are too much better at this point -- it looks like I've done them in my design-impaired way, where "thinking like a marketer" means "put in some graphics, whether they help or not." In the midst of all of this, though, you'll see that a significant portion of those mini-graphics have infiltrated my personal site. I hope you won't hold it against me. Part of being a semi-hemi-demi-web designer has been tooling around cyberspace (twinge) in search of a good idea. Arguing that there aren't enough of them out there is damn near self-evident, and, upon stumbling into, among other things, a Virtual Scottish Pub and Coffeehouse, I've discovered how surprising left-brained and linear even a musician can be at times. This is no shock to repeat visitors of this page (and if you're actually curious enough to be reading this, I'd imagine you're one of them), but I'm trying to fight back an attack of programmatic inadequacy here. So if you see an unsightly combination of colors and/or graphics, let me know, as some experiements seem to be working better than others. Enough of that. Aside from the aforementioned tinkering, I haven't changed that much about the site. The links section is still growing, and I'm continuing to humor myself checking into the exotic locales that are visiting my site, but the only new content since the 13th is in the Humor section, where I've added the hysterical 56 B.C. and All That and a sad newspaper article detailing the adventures of a chicken and six Egyptian farmers that I culled from the AP a couple of years ago. That's about all there is to report at the moment. |
